worldwide. We can proudly say that we have excelled in the provision of a wide range of equipment and
this is always expanding based on the latest global requirements. MedGill has grown manifolds into a
trusted and highly reputed medical equipment provider across different continents. All this has been
possible because MedGill placed strong foundations and held on to them. Today, we will be talking
about the foundations of MedGill.

Circular Economy: Saving Lives by Saving the Environment and helping NHS

MedGill is a business centred on the principle of circular economy. We acquire used medical equipment that would otherwise be disposed. According to the NHS, 156,000 tonnes of clinical waste is produced every year in the UK. If not reused, all this waste would otherwise be incinerated. Incineration is a process known to large volumes of carbon emissions. Moreover, it is a costly process. At MedGill, we are playing our role in promoting environmental protection by procuring such equipment. This equipment is then refurbished with the aim of reproducing a high-quality product that can be reused to save valuable lives all over the world. Hence, less waste goes for incineration. The reduction of anthropogenic carbon emissions is the most crucial factor in controlling global warming. At MedGill, we highly value human lives as well as the environment and we will continue to look for more ways to
promote sustainable development.

The COVID: Giving back to society

At MedGill, we believe in giving back to the society when most needed. Such a recent time was during
the COVID-19 pandemic. MedGill worked closely with the NHS, registered charities and NGOs and
donated refurbished top-class medical equipment. At MedGill, we believe in taking initiatives and giving
back to society when most needed.

Promoting Health Equity in Deprived Regions

Different regions have varying amount of access to healthcare. According to the WHO (World Health
Organization), many countries in Southeast Asia such as India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and others have
a significantly higher presence of diseases. Another study revealed that the Sub Saharan African region
has faced numerous health emergencies in the 21st century. At MedGill, we aim to promote health
equity in these regions by providing them a much more affordable alternative. Besides providing a costeffective solution, we also provide complete information and consultancy on how to operate and
maintain the equipment so that the user can optimise usage. Hence, our mission is to promote health
equity in deprived regions.

A Safe and Healthy Employee is a Happy Employee.

Our employees are the core of the company.MedGill has extra concern for the health and safety of employees. Our CEO has taken overall responsibility for health and safety management, hence health and safety is the topmost priority. An example of this is during manual handling. Manual handling is done regularly when equipment moves in and out of storage. However, several steps have been taken to protect our workers. We provide our workers with superior quality trolleys to move the equipment. No manual handling task is performed alone. There is always an extra worker provided to assure ease of work. Moreover, no package weighs more than 20 kg by policy. Once the workers are done with the hard work, MedGill has arranged abundant welfare facilities to ensure the workers are not physically or mentally stressed out.

There have been zero accidents recorded in MedGill’s history. This is living proof that MedGill strives to
provide a safe and healthy workplace for all workers. We are glad to fulfil our moral responsibility.

No Shortcuts to Success

At MedGill, we never miss a step. Every process is done with precise intricacy and integrity. There are
several examples of this. For example, the first step in our operation is the procurement of old/used
machines. One might imagine that every single one of these machines is ultimately stored and sold.
However, this is far from true. After procurement and refurbishment, all the machines are thoroughly
tested. Only those machines that display 100% workability are stored. These machines make up only
25% of the total machines procured. When the machines are to be delivered, they are packed with
precision to ensure they reach the end user in pristine condition. Therefore, we take zero risks keeping
customer satisfaction and patient safety in mind.

The Triple Bottom Line

To summarise, it can be said that the overall running principle of MedGill is based on the triple bottom
line. MedGill does not solely work for profits. As a matter of fact, we ensure that our work promotes
environmental protection and has social benefits for the wider society
